So often there is a drive to lead change with clear 'proven' frameworks and methods - which of course do work excellently in some circumstances. The changes then often progress to impose change on people, resulting in a lack empowerment and agency to change.

In the video below, Jon shares insights into the challenges of implementing change within organisations, particularly in the context of sustainability and net-zero initiatives.

They include the human aspects of change management, addressing:

  • The common struggles faced when trying to effect change in organizations

  • The importance of understanding where individuals and organizations are in their sustainability journey

  • The role of intrinsic motivation in driving meaningful change

  • Strategies for fostering sustainability awareness from individual to global levels

  • The significance of measurable impacts and behavioral changes

Jon shares how organisations can effectively navigate the path towards more sustainable practices, emphasising the importance of meeting people where they are and cultivating intrinsic motivation for lasting change. This introduction provides a foundation for understanding the complex dynamics of organisational change in the pursuit of sustainability goals, and how the MAP model is a powerful model to enable change.

Through bringing people on the journey, allowing everyone to appreciate their position and that of others, everyone can learn from one another, an unlock the collective capability to drive towards common goals. Then great things can happen.
